Happy New Year, everyone! It’s officially 2025! I’m definitely looking forward to this new year. I have some pretty big goals that I hope to accomplish. Below I will share the majority of my goals for 2025.
- Weigh around 155lbs. I currently weigh 174lbs. My goal is to weigh 155lbs by mid May, which means I need to lose about 19-20 pounds.
- My sub-goal to help me lose this weight is to avoid overeating. I want to stop eating once I feel full rather than eating until I feel overly stuffed.
- Once I achieve this goal I plan on getting new clothes and getting my photos professionally taken for my birthday in June! 🙂
- Get 10-12 more tutoring clients this year. I am an English tutor, and I would love to get a lot more clients this year. I tutor 5th-12th graders in ELA, and I tutor advanced English language learners. 🙂
- My sub-goal is to post at least 2 creative posts a week on social media.
- My second sub-goal is to create my own curriculum based on research, as well as my own knowledge. For those of you who don’t already know this, I have my Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and my Master’s degree in Linguistics.
- My third sub-goal is finding ways to improve my company as well as my website.
- Go to Italy and/or Mexico this year. I have never been out of the country, and I would love to visit both of these countries!
- Sub-goal: I need to get my passport.
- My second sub-goal: Save up money to travel to either country.
- Grow Closer to God. I have definitely been slacking in my spiritual life, and I want to read the Bible daily and pray for at least 20 minutes a day. I also want to go to confession soon.
- Read the Bible once a day.
- Say a Hail Mary with Robert at lunch time.
- Pray for 20 minutes a day.
- Go to confession as needed.
- Declutter. I am a sentimental person, and I tend to keep a lot of “memories”. I also have a hard time getting rid of things that other people have given me as gifts even if I don’t use or need the item. Another thing I struggle with is getting rid of mail that seems like it “could” be important even though it probably isn’t. I have gone YEARS without reading some mail and everything has been, but I still can’t bring myself to throw it away because “what if it’s important?”. Honestly typing this now I can see I have a problem. I mean I knew before typing this out, but this definitely solidified that for me. Anyway, to be clear I don’t hoard a lot of things, but I do have a hard time with the things mentioned above. However, I am taking steps to declutter already. It is January 4th and my sister came over and helped motivate me to look through boxes and get rid of (donate) things. She also helped convince me to get rid of/donate a lot of things that have been gifted to me that I don’t use.
- Sub-Goal 1: Get rid of junk mail that I have deemed “possibly important” when I know it’s not.
- Sub-Goal 2: Donate gifts that have been gifted to me that I don’t want.
- Sub-Goal 3: Try to be proactive and get rid of things as soon as I realize I don’t need or want them rather than waiting a prolonged period of time just because I want to avoid feeling bad for not keeping the item.
- I want to make a new friend this year. I haven’t had a close friend in a very long time. I definitely want to make a life-long friend this year.
- My sub-goal is to throw a Valentine’s Day Party this February for Catholic women in the Catholic Facebook group I’m in. I threw a Fall party last year in an attempt to make a friend, and I think only four women came.
- My second sub-goal is to try to strike up conversations with potential friends. I am pretty reserved, so this is a good goal because I need to put myself out there if I want to make a friend.
- Become a Real Estate Developer. I am in the process of buying a little over an acre of land. I want to eventually be able to build on it. I plan on documenting this journey on YouTube or on my blog, or maybe both.
- Sub-Goal 1: Buy Land
- Sub-Goal 2: Get a surveyor to come out and mark the land.
- Sub-Goal 3: Clear Land
- Sub-Goal 4: Get Building Permit/Approval
- Sub-Goal 5: Build
- Become intermediate in Spanish. I might technically already be low intermediate, but I want to become conversational. I am too nervous/embarrassed/scared to try talking to others in Spanish. I also have a hard time with wanting anything I say to be perfect. I want it to be grammatically correct, and i want to sound decent. This is a pretty normal desire. However, I think my perfectionistic tendency in this area is hindering me from advancing because I am avoiding making any mistakes at all, which is making me less likely to push myself/take risks in my pursuit of learning Spanish.
- My sub-goal is to either have a one sided conversation out loud to myself once a month or talk to someone in Spanish even if it’s just one sentence once a month.
- My second sub-goal is to keep a diary and write about my day IN Spanish. I need to write the entire entry without using a Spanish translation app to make sure I’m right. I can only correct my writing after I write the entry, not while I write the entry.
- Try New Activities. I want to grow/blossom this year by trying fun new activities.
- Sub-Goal 1: Take singing classes. When I was a kid I really wanted to become a singer. This was until I realized I was not good at singing. With that being said, now as an adult, I would like to take singing classes because I like singing. I think it’s fun, and I would like to sing without my voice cracking.
- Sub-Goal 2: I want to play tennis or some kind of two player sport.
- Sub-Goal 3: I want to learn to sew. My goal is to sew some type of article of clothing this year.
- I’m not sure what else I want to do yet this year, but I know I want to have fun.
- Upload consistently. I want to upload consistently on my website, YouTube, or both. I have some content ideas for both. My goal is to at least stick to one. 🙂
- My sub-goal is to publish a post twice a week on my website.
- My second sub-goal is to upload a YouTube video once a month if I am posting consistently on my website. However, if I am not posting consistently on my website, I would like to upload a YouTube video twice a week.
- Go on 12 FUN dates with Robert. By FUN I mean things that are new an exciting. I don’t have sub-goals for this one, but I will list some examples.
- Go to a concert. I’ve never been to a big concert before.
- Watch a performance. What kind of performance? I’m not sure. 😀
- Go to a comedy show. We have done this together, but I would love to do it again.
- Watch a game or some type of sporting event. I have never done this. I’m not really into sports (neither is Robert), but it would be a new experience and it might be fun, so I am open to attending one this year.
- Go see a horse race. I guess this is kind of in the same category of the sporting event. Robert enjoys watching the Kentucky derby on TV, so I think it would be fun to watch a race in person.
- Work on my PhD Program. I applied to a PhD program for Linguistics this year. I won’t know if I got accepted until March, but if I do get accepted, I am going to take classes in the Fall.
- Sub-Goal 1: Take 6 classes if possible.
- Sub-Goal 2: Get good grades.
- Write 10,000 words this year. I want to write 10,000 words in the book I am working on or 10,000 words for a short-story.
- Save $15,000 dollars.
- My goal is to save $500 dollars a month and then gradually increase when I can.
- Create a skincare routine by February.
- Consistently brush and floss my teeth. I want to improve my oral hygiene. My goal is to have bright white clean teeth all year long. 🙂
- Get Married! <3
- Buy a house! Okay, so I don’t know if this one will actually happen, but I would love to buy a house this year. It’s been my dream to buy a house for a very long time! At one point I saved a large amount for a downpayment, but I ended up quitting my job (it was stressful, and I did not like it) and used the money I had saved.
- Sub-goal 1: Save money for a downpayment on a house.
- Sub-Goal 2: Earn more money this year.
Happy New Year! I would love to hear your goals for 2025 down below in the comment section. 🙂
These are all awesome goals, just remember to be kind to yourself and know it’s okay if you don’t achieve all of these in a year. Also just continue to stay in a positive mindset and God close and your goals will all happen in time. Love you very much ♥️
I’m definitely not going to be hard on myself if I don’t accomplish everything this year. Thank you, Thia! <3 Love you! I hope you have a great year!
